CEO Message – August 2016

Dear WORLDCOB members and business community,

 

I write to you all today with a sense of great joy and satisfaction, after our wonderful gathering during the latest THE BIZZ 2016, which took place in the historic Willard Intercontinental hotel in Washington D.C. The truth is that one feels very energized after a THE BIZZ event. Thank you to all of the attendees who made such a successful event possible, which began with a magnificent reception in nothing less than the OAS headquarters. The following day we had an intensive and revealing morning, thanks to the “Power of Recognition” workshop conducted by our beloved Ms. Nancy Branger. This workshop was without a doubt the best to date, which is why we have considered replicating it and presenting it to all interested member businesses.

 

We also had our Speed Business Meeting, within the framework of EXPOBIZZ. These quick business meetings, as their name suggests, are very useful for creating new business opportunities and, above all, for meeting business men and women from other cultures – from companies in the same line of business but in different countries. We will always be proud of  everything that is generated after these meetings take place. And finally, we had the awards ceremony in the evening – a ceremony which broke attendance records, thanks to being streamed live online. Also, I can undoubtedly say I believe this was one of the most moving ceremonies that we’ve ever had in the past 12 years. And this is probably due to what was experienced during Nancy’s workshop in the morning.

 

We are now working on what will be the final THE BIZZ event of the year – THE BIZZ AMEA 2016. This will take place in the beautiful city of Marrakesh in one of the world’s finest hotels, the Mandarin Oriental. We are delighted to be reconnecting with all of the members that have chosen this destination, as well as with those who have chosen to attend 2 or all 3 ceremonies.

 

At the same time, we are also working on the latest plans for organizing the next 6 CSR Meetings. For the first time in 5 years, these meetings are being co-organized with some of the most prestigious universities from countries such as Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru. We know that through these Meetings we will continue to promote Corporate Social Responsibility, as well as continue to challenge companies that want to publicly show that they are socially responsible.

 

I would like to end this month’s message by reminding you that we have sent surveys to all THE BIZZ AMERICAS participants. Your feedback is always valuable to us so, if you haven’t done so already, we ask you to please complete the survey as soon as possible.
